The company was established in June 1994 on the initiative of the local self-government authorities of Żyrardów, as "Geotermia Żyrardowska" joint-stock company.

One year later as a result of great interest in exploitation of geothermal waters, we extended the scope of our operations by executing investments in two other cities of the former skierniewickie voivodship (administrative region) - in Mszczonów and Skierniewice. As a consequence the company adopted its new name "Geotermia Mazowiecka" Joint Stock Company. In 1999 the city of Sochaczew joined us. We execute there a biomass-based heat system. At the moment the company employs 25 persons. Our basic activity is production of heat, which constitutes 95% of our income.
